"The Oodnadatta Track"

What a feeling of anticipation, what a wonderful experience, and what better way than to travel with other members of a great Club along the Oodnadatta Track

Our journey commenced at Marree, S.A. on 27th May 2006, where Club members travelling from all States met at The Drovers Rest Caravan Park to travel the legendary 'Oodnadatta Track' on their way to attend the Club's National Get-Together to be held in Alice Springs N.T.

What a sight! The camaraderie and excitement was obvious as the many RVers' set off along the 'track' on this epic journey - the use of UHF Channel 18 kept all members informed of the many interesting ruins and sights, as well as road conditions. Several members had VKS radios which enabled the group access to emergency services, if required.

Our understanding of the harshness of life in the outback, in particular along the Oodnadatta Track, was broadened by this trip.

During the four-day journey overnight stops were bush camps or caravan parks. There was ample 'assistance on hand' from the many skills of our members when a flat tyre or other minor mishaps occurred, to keep the convoys on the move.

Special 'thanks' to our President, for organising this trip, giving members an opportunity of a great challenge.

It is a very true saying, "You'll never never know, if you never never go"!!!!
